Production Summer Student

Role Summary

As a Summer Student, you will assist with various production line tasks, including Grinding, Stuffing, Netting and packaging.

Job Type: Full-Time / Temporary (April to August 31, 2025)

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Shifts Available: earliest start 5:30am. Our Summer Students are required to stay until the end of production operations – each shift varies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and assemble meat products, including tying, stuffing, hanging, and adding spices according to specifications.
2. Handle packaging tasks, including bagging, vacuum sealing, labeling, and applying stickers with weight and best-before dates.
3. Conduct visual inspections before and after processing and ensure compliance with quality standards throughout production.
4. Support efficient workflow by expediting materials as needed.
5. Assist team members with procedures, follow supervisor instructions, and perform additional tasks as required to maintain smooth operations and productivity.

Qualifications

1. No previous experience required - training will be provided.
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
4. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
5. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs.
6. Ability to push and pull up to 250 lbs.
7. Ability to work near or around machinery.
8. Ability to work in a cold environment.
9. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
10. Frequent exposure to noise, blood, bones, fat, grease, offal, waste meat, etc.
