Production Planner

Tripar is renowned as a lighting component manufacturer for architectural and commercial lighting, but also offers extensive Custom Sheet Metal Stamping & Fabrication services to a variety of other industries. We have a full range of metal stamping & fabrication capabilities from CNC punch presses, lasers, combination punch/laser, and close to 10 press breaks, plus over 100 presses, 1000 dies and assembly operations. We are a fast-paced company with mixed manufacturing capabilities. Our production includes both forecasted and on-demand manufacturing.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Production Planner to join our team!

The production planner’s primary responsibilities are planning and coordinating production schedules to support ongoing orders. This is achieved through monitoring the flow of products through the complete production cycle, inventory levels, and availability of equipment and human resources, in order to plan and schedule manufacturing work orders, provide status updates to all departments, all with the goal to facilitate and optimize production schedules to ensure that all orders are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop production schedules and optimize workflow based on customer orders, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and purchasing status, while managing production and resource constraints to meet deadlines.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks related to equipment, tooling, manpower, work center capacities, operations, and subcontractors to maintain smooth production flow, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Monitor production orders to ensure tasks are completed on schedule, make adjustments as necessary, and communicate changes to relevant departments to minimize delays.
  • Collaborate effectively with all departments (Purchasing, Production, Maintenance & Toolroom, Customer Service) to achieve common objectives, leveraging strong communication skills.
  • Participate in research and implementation of process improvements, working closely with management to drive continuous optimization.
  • Oversee scheduled cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Review and communicate changes to current orders, ensuring updates are fully integrated into the production schedule and workflow.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-production activities for new items with Engineering and other departments to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing, supporting client needs.
  • Consolidate and maintain production support documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate with subcontractors.

Technical Skills

  • DEC in Administration, Supply and Operations Management, or Engineering Technology or of a similar background (Industrial Engineering).
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Production Planner.
  • Experience in utilizing ERP and APS systems for production planning and management.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Bilingual in both French and English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of Metal Stamping and/or Metal Fabrication is an asset.
