Production Manager

Permanent Position | Montreal | Up to $120,000

We are seeking a dedicated Production Manager to lead a unionized team of Assembly and Component Inspection Technicians in the assembly and overhaul of Aero-derivative Gas Turbines. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring team engagement, removing obstacles, and achieving delivery deadlines. You will be responsible for meeting production targets, completing modules and engines on time, maintaining a safe work environment, and upholding and enhancing quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Enforce HSE standards on the shop floor, ensuring adherence to local regulations.
• Task Prioritization and Management: Allocate and manage daily tasks to meet customer demands.
• Production Monitoring: Review engine assembly progress daily, resolving issues to prevent production delays.
• Employee Management: Track and manage work hours of shop floor employees, including related administrative tasks.
• Tooling and Equipment Maintenance: Identify and support the maintenance needs of shop floor tooling and equipment.
• Employee Development: Identify training needs and support the skill development of shop floor personnel.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at improving production processes.
• Union Relations: Maintain positive relationships with the union by adhering to the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Production Manager, Supervisor, Lead Hand, Team Leader, or similar role in a unionized industrial environment.
• Familiarity with diverse manufacturing machinery and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, coach, and drive results.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of production processes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
