Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for leading our Production team to produce quality pre-rolls and packaged flower in an efficient, safe, and cost-effective manner. They will also be the main contact for the OCS, ensuring all PO’s are met to deadline and ensuring transport is booked and efficient stock is available. The role involves working at the commercial grow facility, utilizing comprehensive techniques that are driven through quality, and completed in a safe manner while adhering to all JP Mariwell Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Production Manager is also responsible for promoting positive employee relationships and fostering an environment where we can all make contributions that matter while striving to achieve excellence in the areas of Employee Health and Safety, Product Quality and Cannabis Safety.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides leadership, direction, guidance and support to Production and personnel. Develops positive, motivating and efficient communication with all employees.
  2. Managing production stock levels and products are readily available to deliver to the OCS or any other province we are working with.
  3. Supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of personnel to ensure work is completed efficiently, effectively and safely.
  4. Aware of time/labour costs, regular inspection of equipment and material resources.
  5. Ensure the manufacturing and packaging of a quality product while maintaining a safe and motivated workforce.
  6. Monitors the scheduling of equipment and personnel to ensure production requirements are met on a timely basis; that safe conditions exist at all times within the work environment; will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees.
  7. Effectively uses daily production information to cross reference accuracy and compliance with all Health Canada Regulations. Communicate results, positively reinforce success and initiate corrective action when appropriate.
  8. Troubleshoot and lead problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of effective functional and cross-functional teams and on-the-floor leadership to effectively change systems and procedures through the process of continuous improvement.
  9. Ensures the Company’s quality and sanitation standards are met through close liaison with Quality Services, full participating in the HACCP and BRC programs, as well as frequent review and implementation of Company and Government Policies.
  10. Administers environmental policies and ensures regulations are followed.
  11. Manage production by measuring, analyzing and executing corrective actions for Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and People.
  12. Plan and execute production and labour schedules to produce the required volume ensuring that measures are met including cost control, within specification and quality requirements including Health Canada compliance and customer requirements.
  13. Creating draft SOP for new product and/or improvement to existing processes to be submitted to the QAP for final review.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Daily walk through for security tracking, operational security checks as per SOP’s.
  2. Member of the Safety Committee.
  3. Always adhere to JP Mariwell Inc. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the grow and cultivation process.
  4. Must be familiar with OCS portal and ensuring PO’s are met on time.
  5. Must be organised and motivated to meet deadlines and book deliveries.
  6. Daily, follow all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety during all grow and cultivation operations.
  7. Familiar with and follow the Cannabis Act and its regulations.
  8. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn; gowning and area procedures must be followed as per SOP Proper Protective Equipment and SOP Employee Health Hygiene and Dress Code Policy.

Physical Requirements:

These physical demands are characteristic of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully and safely perform the necessary duties of the job.

  1. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to lift weight up to 25kgs, push and pull carts.
  2. Use their hands and fingers to handle scissors or trimmers. Use of manual dexterity is required.
  3. Required to stand for long periods of time, balance, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch/squat.
  4. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Working Conditions:

While carrying out the responsibilities of the job, the following work environment characteristics are typical of the setting the employee will encounter:

  1. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate, increases when alarms sound.
  2. Personal Protective Equipment needs to be worn as required.
  3. Work with scissor cart lift, under intense lighting, with strong odours, and in humid temperatures.
  4. This position includes potential exposure to pollen, molds, mildew, insects, plant debris, as well as chemicals.
  5. Must be able to work with all forms of cannabis.
  6. Typically work 44 hours per week, (Typically Monday – Friday) some nights and weekends depending on deadlines for product launches, harvest schedule or as determined by Management. All hours will be on site at 2715 Talbot Trail Wheatley Ontario. Schedule will be laid out by Management.
