Job Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing the production operations. This role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling all manufacturing processes to ensure that products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Production Manager will oversee the entire production process, manage staff, and liaise with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of production, ensuring operations are efficient and meet production targets.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the daily production schedules to meet business objectives.
  • Manage a team of supervisors, production workers, and support staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Ensure all production activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to streamline processes and resolve production challenges.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on cost savings, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Monitor production KPIs (e.g., output, quality, efficiency), and develop action plans to address any performance gaps.
  • Maintain effective communication with senior management to report on production progress and challenges.
  • Manage the production budget, optimize resource allocation, and control costs.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and liaise with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams.
  • Proven ability to manage production schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is based in a manufacturing environment and may require standing for extended periods, exposure to noise, and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet production deadlines.
