JOB OVERVIEW
Under supervision, the Paint Line Operator safely and efficiently loads equipment for processing/painting of raw materials. Work safely and always be aware of your coworkers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare raw materials for production runs and verify that materials match customer order requirements and production schedule.
- Connect raw material (metal) through a stitching process.
- Visually inspect coils to identify defects (marks, dents, scratches, etc.) in raw materials and finished products.
- Work as a team to complete production setups to ensure an efficient changeover from job to job.
- Package coils to customer requirements (paper, cardboard, shrink wrap, etc.), which may include driving a forklift or assisting the forklift driver.
- Ensure that finished goods are properly and safely stacked both on the forklift and in the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by removing production scrap and packaging scrap in a timely manner and placing waste in proper receptacles.
- Participate in safety and other training programs as required.
- Collaborate with crew members during production downtime on projects as defined by management.
- Breaks are unscheduled and machinery must always be attended.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, it is necessary to understand basic measurement and mathematics when using a calculator, and to be comfortable with computers as some data entry or data lookup is required.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Exposure to production environment preferred.
- Reliable transportation is mandatory.
- English and Spanish speaking - REQUIRED
