Your role

We are looking for a production designer/editor in Sherbrooke to support our digital production. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director, Content Development and Production in the Eastern Townships.

We are seeking a versatile individual with a high level of creativity and solid experience in video design and digital production. As a production designer/editor, you will be responsible for designing and establishing the production of audiovisual digital products and adding original and unique value to meet the desired objectives and editorial intentions. To succeed in this role, you must be proactive, capable of working in a team under pressure, while maintaining excellent working relationships with your colleagues. You should also have an excellent understanding of the digital world, both in terms of its content and formats.


More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Design and establish the technical and artistic elements that make up the editing and visual effects of digital products to meet production needs.
  • Achieve the desired objectives through the graphic design of digital products.
  • Present the product to relevant stakeholders at agreed stages, and collaborate in its evaluation to identify potential improvements and guide the final direction of the product.
  • Contribute to all phases of planning and production to ensure the objectives are met.
  • Develop and design shots and visual effects using original camera angles and framing.
  • Prepare, transport, install, adjust, and operate cameras and related audio equipment to ensure proper filming, including image composition and camera movements.
  • Advise and consult with technical and production staff on the best technical and artistic production methods to achieve desired results.
  • Design and carry out lighting and sound capture, if necessary.
  • Evaluate and ensure technical quality control throughout the entire activity and its results.
  • Listen to, view, and select sound, audiovisual clips, and visual elements. Adapt their format for digital publication. Order images, and take photos as needed.
  • Upload the produced content to the appropriate platforms.
The work schedule for this position is from 4:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M., Monday to Friday.

You will also be responsible for the morning radio show "Par ici l'info." Training on the use of the radio console will be provided if necessary.


Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • DEC or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in a relevant field
  • Valid driver’s license
Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of the news production cycle in the digital era
  • Knowledge of production techniques
  • Strong experience in video capture and editing
  • Experience in digital graphic design
  • Proficiency in the specifics of different platforms
  • Fluent in French
  • Highly versatile and creative
  • Ability to work under pressure with great autonomy
  • Proactive and flexible
  • Enjoys working in a team and maintains good relationships with colleagues
