Job description

We are seeking an experienced Production Assistant Manager on our Finish Line.

Required Skills & Experience

  • College or University education in related field would be considered an asset.
  • Experience managing a production line in a fabrication environment would be considered an asset.
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management strategies (budgeting, human resources, resource allocation, etc.)
  • Proven track record of excellent customer service.
  • Solid relationship building and relationship maintenance experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office, email, internet, keyboarding.
  • Concise communicator who can work independently and within a team.
  • Meticulous organizer who continuously improves efficiency and effectiveness to achieve the right results.
  • LEAN Manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Experience as a mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician would be an asset.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and provide direction and leadership to the value stream of a product or product line.
  • Establish team member priorities and assignments.
  • Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Dedication to improving the process and quality every day.
  • Ensure that production schedules are maintained; delivery deadlines are not missed; standardized work is being followed with quality and safety requirements being achieved.
  • Develop and implement LEAN manufacturing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  • Prepare reporting information and attend the weekly Monday morning leadership communication meeting.
  • Lead daily morning huddle/Hansei meetings.
  • Respond to any equipment stoppages. Coordinate any equipment repairs/stoppages with the maintenance department.
  • Team member relations/performance management, performing progressive discipline actions when necessary.
  • Team member training and development – ensuring team members in the department have the appropriate qualifications/training to perform their duties.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and culture within the work environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule:
