Job description

Venor is proud to partner with Cronos Group in their search for a Product Specialist to join their team. Cronos Group is an innovative global cannabinoid company committed to advancing cannabis research, technology, and product development. With a portfolio of iconic brands like PEACE NATURALS, Lord Jones, and Spinach, Cronos Group is dedicated to elevating the consumer experience and shaping the future of the cannabis industry.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting regional sales and education initiatives across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. As a Product Specialist, you will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to engage budtenders, host education sessions, and drive brand awareness in government retail stores (NSLC). This 4-month contract position starts May 5th, running for 16 weeks with an end date of Friday, August 22nd. This position is ideal for someone passionate about cannabis, tech-savvy, and eager to make an impact in a dynamic industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the Regional Sales Manager by conducting in-store activations, audits, and education sessions for budtenders.
  • Host 4-6 consumer-facing education sessions per week to promote Cronos Group’s recreational products.
  • Complete weekly reports on traffic, sales, CRM signups, and consumer feedback.
  • Participate in weekly sales calls with key customers in HRM and other areas of NS and NB.
  • Freshen up displays and ensure compliance with distribution and programming standards.
  • Travel within NS and occasionally NB to support trade marketing and activations (expected to be less than 3 trips total for the term, likely 1 trip to Cape Breton and 2 to New Brunswick, with fewer than 5 overnight stays required).
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties, including competitive product analysis and new store reports.

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for daily travel.
  • Availability to work Tuesday to Saturday (5 days per week), with a typical schedule of 11:00 AM–7:00 PM (some flexibility may be required).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry and a passion for continuous learning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technology (smartphones, apps, MS Office Suite).
  • Strong interpersonal skills—engaging, enthusiastic, and energetic.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Compensation: $22.50/hour + $700/month car allowance

Travel & Expenses: Business fuel is covered by a company card. A $700/month car allowance is provided to cover mileage. Meals and hotel expenses are covered when traveling 100+ km from home (overnight stays expected to be fewer than 5 nights total for the term).
