Team & Job Overview
The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. DTS has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
- Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC's 2030 business transformation.
- Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
- Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
- Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
In this role, you will be joining an established and efficient team, the Risk and Corporate services (RCP) squad reporting to the Director, Digital Delivery and working closely with the Sr Product Owner on the RCP Squad. The team manages multiple applications across 10 Lines of Businesses (LoBs) with multiple stakeholders- there is always something interesting to work on. The Product Owner Run/Grow - Risk and Corporate Services Platform will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and sustainment of a comprehensive risk, legal and corporate services platform. This role requires a strong background in multi-product ownership (50+ products) and a strong understanding of business with preference given to knowledge of risk, legal, and/or communications. The successful candidate will manage multiple lines of business, ensuring compliance with external regulatory requirements and fostering strong vendor relationships.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of managing the sustainment and operations of the technology ecosystem supporting crucial Backoffice capabilities of the organization. The candidate will be part of a cross-functional team managing and enhancing legacy applications and onboarding new systems into operation. Additionally, the individual will be results-oriented, with a keen focus on quality and delivering business value, while managing multiple priorities requiring strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prioritize product requirements for multiple products at a time, epics, features and enhancements based on business value, risk mitigation, and stakeholder input defined by the Platform OKRs.
- Act as the primary liaison between the multiple business lines, technology, architecture, and all other core teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Provide the right resources (people, tools, environment) to enable teams to deliver on strategic goals.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with risk management, legal and communication teams.
- Ensure that all product features and processes comply with relevant financial accounting standards and legal regulations.
- Monitor and interpret external regulatory requirements relevant to the product and business lines.
- Develop and implement internal processes and product features to ensure compliance with these external regulations.
- Monitor product performance and risk metrics, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Screening Criteria- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in multiple product management, with a focus on risk management, financial accounting, legal operations, or communications.
- Proven track record of managing multiple lines of business concurrently and implementing external regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting standards and legal regulations.
- Experience with dual risk rating methodology - PD and LGD.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with vendor relationship management and contract negotiation.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing risk management platforms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects at once and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Assets- Professional certifications in Product Ownership, risk management, financial accounting, or legal compliance (e.g., CSPO, CPA, CFA, FRM, CISA).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, ADO).
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory requirements and standards.
- Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
Compensation Details:- Product Owner 18: Salaries typically range from $92,355 to $123,140 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location- Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
- This role may be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, Laval, Calgary, Vancouver or Halifax.
