We seek a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to join our team. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and management of our show transmitter devices throughout their lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure our products meet customer needs and align with the company's overall vision.

Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy: Under the supervision of the Product Director and based on business objectives, market research and customer feedback, develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap for our transmitters and fixtures.
  2. Identify and prioritize product features, specifications, and enhancements to drive customer satisfaction, efficient installation, and successful activations.
  3. Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders and in-house operators to gather and document product requirements, translating technical needs into actionable product specifications. Ensure all requirements are clear, feasible, and aligned with technical capabilities and commercial objectives.
  4. Oversee the transmitters' development process, including feature prioritization, backlog grooming, and internal release management. Collaborate with development teams to define and prioritize product backlog items, ensuring timely and high-quality feature delivery.
  5. Cross-functional collaboration: Liaison between different teams, including design, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and sales, to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the product lifecycle. Coordinate with stakeholders to address any roadblocks or issues that arise during development.
  6. User Experience and Quality Assurance: Champion user-centered design principles and collaborate with the development team to create and improve our transmitters. Work closely with quality assurance teams to define acceptance criteria and conduct product testing to ensure high product quality and reliability.
  7. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities for innovation. Stay up to date with industry developments and technological advancements.
  8. Product Launch and Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with production, marketing and sales teams to develop effective product launch strategies, positioning, and go-to-market plans. Provide support for production and sales enablement activities, including product training, collateral development and in-house operator presentations.
  9. Product Training and internal point of contact: Act as a product champion to support internal users (workshop technicians, operators, and sales reps). Generate and maintain product technical documentation (user guide, assembly guide, datasheet, specs guide, etc.) relevant to each emitter type. Gather and communicate best practices, limitations, and revision plans across the users and the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in a relevant field. Additional certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
  2. Experience in electro-mechanical engineering with optics a plus.
  3. Relevant, equivalent or connected experiences will be considered.
  4. Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the electronics, hardware, and/or show business industry.
  5. Strong understanding of the show business industry and its specific requirements.
  6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  7. Analytical mindset and ability to translate complex ideas into clear and concise product requirements.
  8. Passion for technology and a deep understanding of small electronic devices.
  9. Knowledge of market research and competitive analysis techniques.
  10. Experience with user-centered design principles.
  11. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  12. Knowledge of show lighting products and the industry’s standards and requirements.
  13. Knowledge in related technology: LED, optics, video, and control protocols.
  14. Strategic understanding of the international touring and special events market.
  15. Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English). The person must be able to communicate in English (written and oral) since we have employees outside Quebec.
