Job Title : Product Manager & Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator - Wire & Cable Products
Location : Mississauga, Ontario (moving to Vaughan in February)

Position Overview :
The Product Manager & Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is a multi-function role within our Canadian business unit. As the Product Manager, you will help Sales drive the growth of our wire and cable product portfolio, overseeing product selection, market analysis, and sales support initiatives. Concurrently, you will manage the purchasing and inventory to ensure optimal stock levels, reducing shortages and maximizing product availability in conjunction with our U.S. teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Management :
- Product Selection & Development : Identify and select wire, cable, and potential ancillary products for our portfolio, ensuring alignment with market needs and growth objectives.
- Product Expansion : Evaluate and recommend new products to be added to the inventory, focusing on emerging market trends and customer demand.
- Marketing & Sales Support : Collaborate with the marketing team to develop product cut sheets, catalogs, and other collateral to drive sales growth.
- Pricing Strategy : Assist in setting competitive and strategic pricing structures.
- Customer & Internal Product Support : Address product-related inquiries from internal teams or external customers, providing expertise and solutions.
Purchasing and Inventory Coordination :
- ERP System Setup & Optimization : Lead the setup and ongoing enhancement of the ERP system (Rubicon) to streamline inventory management and automate purchasing suggestions.
- Inventory Management : Maintain appropriate inventory levels, focusing on minimizing stock-outs and optimizing turnover rates. Manage random lengths and establish scrap levels.
- Procurement & Order Placement : Place product orders and work in close collaboration with U.S.-based Purchasing teams in Virginia Beach and Little Rock to coordinate supply flow.
- Stock Review & Allocation : Review orders for cut wire, select appropriate reels, and determine the need to ship as-is or cut to required lengths, managing random lengths and scrap levels.
- Support Sales for Custom Orders : Provide support for sales and custom quotes, recommending the use of existing random lengths to meet customer needs while minimizing waste.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Act as a liaison between Sales, Operations, and other departments to facilitate smooth inventory flow and product availability.
Qualifications :
· Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Product Management, Purchasing, or Inventory Coordination, preferably within the wire and cable industry or minimally in the electrical and or distribution market. This is not a consumer products role.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (experience with Rubicon is a plus).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
