We are looking for a Product Manager who will be in charge of our Core platform to disrupt the commercial insurance landscape and help small businesses find the right solutions that meet their needs.

The Product team works to strategically design, develop, and manage user-centered digital products that align with our business objectives.

This is a remote-first role, but candidates must be based within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to be considered for the position. #LI-Remote

Please note that this is a full-time contract position for 15 months, with the potential for further opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Product team and Senior Leaders to execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Create and present a quarterly roadmap to senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive alignment and buy-in for the product vision.
  • Partner with Insurance Analytics teams to comprehend their goals and priorities, informing the roadmap and guiding project execution.
  • Drive growth using data-driven insights.
  • Research, identify, and draft specifications, and craft user stories. Work closely with the Product, Insurance Analytics, and Engineering teams to plan project rollouts through development, testing, and launch.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze product metrics to prioritize features and initiatives that meet OKRs.
  • Work to continuously improve product roadmap and OKRs, and deliver tangible business outcomes by measuring the intended outcome of the delivered features.
  • Own the product backlog, sprint planning, and user stories. Build comprehensive project and implementation plans.
  • Actively build working relationships with Technology, Insurance Analytics, and Business Leadership to facilitate cross-departmental alignment.
  • Assess roadmap capacity, build the roadmap, and justify planned initiatives to ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Enhance user experience by identifying product gaps and suggesting improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • University degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in digital/software products.
  • Extensive understanding of software development, system architecture, and technology infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of discovery methodologies to identify user needs and new opportunities.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies; capable of managing projects effectively.
  • Skilled in creating and managing tickets, test plans, and user stories.
  • Experience turning data into actionable insights.
  • Outstanding communication skills essential for managing relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks decisively and assertively.
  • Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Looker).

Nice to have:

  • Experience in automating processes to enhance sales operations efficiency is an asset.
  • Prior experience in Insurtech or Fintech is an asset.
  • Experience with API platforms is a plus.
