In this role, you will own the complete product development lifecycle, from the initial concept to commercialization, ensuring the delivery of industry leading solutions that align with our company's strategic goals and market needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction, inspiration, and technical expertise to establish the business as a technology leader in laboratory automation solutions.
- Drive innovation and find opportunities for product development and expansion.
- Formulate and implement technology strategies consistent with the business unit’s mission and market goals.
- Lead cross-functional new product development teams focusing on pricing, market introduction, sales tools, and promotion plans.
- Ensure products are responsive to market needs with a differentiated feature set, driving continuous improvements and maintaining market penetration and share position.
- Conduct market research and voice of customer (VOC) to validate data and decisions for the development of new product plans and identification of new market opportunities.
- Develop and mentor employees, ensuring the appropriate application of tools and policies on training, career path development, evaluations, and compensation.
- Foster an innovative environment that promotes teamwork and knowledge sharing across functions and regions.
- Monitor team metrics and objectives to ensure goals are met.
- Ensure all activities align with relevant international regulations, norms, and standards (ISO, CE, CSA, CFR 12 Part 11, RoHS, etc.).
- Drive the product development process (NPD) and create diversified patent portfolio.
- Actively seek out outstanding technologies and translate knowledge into an actionable innovation roadmap.
- Assure competitiveness and innovation of products and processes from a technological and design standpoint.
- Build and run budgets, including capital and operating expenses.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify key assumptions and build financial models for new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or engineering field; advanced degree preferred.
- MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of proven experience in the life sciences, laboratory, robotics, or automation industry.
- Experience leading teams in product management and development.
- Proven record in effectively working with marketing, product management and development.
- Background in robotic automation for Pharma/biopharma markets, with hands-on automation experience or other relevant experience.
- Pharma and CRO market knowledge. Preferred experience within a Pharma company or serving Pharma as a client.
- Strategic professional capable of turning vision into actionable plans. Proven track record of converting market information into enterprise-level product strategies.
- Strong leadership and ownership behavior.
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills across different functions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Canada is $147,000.00–$200,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
