The School of Nursing in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, probationary faculty position at Instructor rank, specializing in Acute and Chronic Health Conditions. In exceptional cases, appointment at the Senior Instructor rank may be considered.

The Faculty of Health is one of the largest faculties at Dalhousie, comprised of eight schools, one college, and one program, more than 200 faculty members, 80 staff members, and over 3,000 students.


The School of Nursing’s Strategic Plan, which aligns with that of the Faculty of Health and Dalhousie University, guides the realization of our vision of transforming healthcare through nursing education, research, and scholarship. The successful candidate will be required to teach in the undergraduate (BScN) program only. The teaching assignments will include teaching in Acute and Chronic Health Conditions, as well as courses to reflect the expertise of the successful candidate within the needs of the School.


Applicants must hold a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; a Master’s degree in Nursing and/or another health discipline; PhD prepared an asset in Nursing and/or another health discipline. A combination of four to five years’ clinical and teaching experience in Acute and Chronic Health Conditions is required. Experience with Older Adult Care is an asset. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. The candidate is expected to become an active and engaged member of the School, Faculty, and University.
