Salary Range: $7,049 - $9,165 Monthly

Grade: MCP.07

The Ministry of Social Services’ Strategic Management Branch is seeking a strong team player to join the Ministry as a Privacy Consultant.

Reporting to the Director of Records and Privacy, the Privacy Consultant will coordinate and complete general access to information requests, information sharing agreements, privacy impact assessments, privacy breach investigations, policy development, and develop relevant training for ministry staff. The initial primary focus will be on privacy impact assessments and experience with the same is required.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, a clear communicator, and a skilled negotiator. You will have strong analytical, research, and relationship management skills and will be able to use your professional judgement to identify opportunities to improve privacy policy and processes. You will work with staff at all levels of the ministry to develop solutions that meet best practices and support the effective delivery of services in the Ministry of Social Services. You will have a demonstrated ability to manage committees and processes to ensure that quality deliverables are completed on time. You will also have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be able to provide advice on complex issues to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.

Typically, the skills and knowledge for this position will have been gained through a degree in the social sciences or humanities, library sciences, archival sciences, and/or relevant certifications or experience.
