Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for an experienced Principal QA Engineer to join the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Data team. AEC Data offers APIs and services that help our customers access, use and share their most valued asset, their data, across their entire ecosystem. You will report to the Senior Manager, Software Development. You will join a team that will be developing an innovative solution to enable cloud-based collaboration across all design tools, initially with the Autodesk suite. We are looking for someone who is passionate about problem-solving and quality, ensuring our customers have the best tools they need to help them realize their dreams. As a Software QA engineer you will work closely with software developers and other QA engineers and take an active role in ensuring this new solution meets the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

1. Establish processes to ensure delivery of quality software.
2. Develop comprehensive software test plans, focusing on UI, functionality, performance, and workflow.
3. Execute test design to find and prioritize defects.
4. Receive defect reports from other sources (customers, product support, forums), confirm and track specific issues for use by development.
5. Write test cases based on real production work, and create scripts for automation.
6. Participate in Scrum ceremonies for requirement gathering, test planning, execution, and progress reporting.
7. Uphold high quality standards for the products you work on.
8. Support customers by addressing training issues and identifying defects.
9. Partner with experienced engineers, absorbing best practices in software development.
10. Write and run automated tests.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Civil/Architecture, or other engineering discipline.
2. Background in Software Engineering / Computer Science, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or relevant domains.
3. 5+ years' experience in Software QA.
4. Strong leadership skills.
5. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
6. Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems. Analyzing alternatives, risks and benefits.
7. Detail-oriented and strong logical thinking skills.
8. Flexibility under changing conditions and ability to multi-task between projects.
9. Familiarity with Agile Software Development Processes and Product Development Life Cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Knowledge of Dynamo, Revit, Civil 3D or other competitive CAD software.
2. Knowledge of QA Automation tools.
3. Knowledge of C#, Python, and Javascript.
4. Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub.
5. Familiarity with AWS, Azure.
6. Keen interest in new technologies and their timely adoption.
7. Ability to learn large software systems quickly.
