Calian is seeking qualified Primary Care Paramedics (PCPs) to join our team at mine sites in Saskatchewan. Paramedics will play a crucial role in workplace health and safety, providing emergency medical care in an industrial/clinical setting while working alongside Emergency Response Teams (ERT), site nurses, and medical director.
Responsibilities
Conduct medical equipment checks, maintain trauma bags, and ensure a well-stocked first aid room.
Provide first aid, emergency response, and hospital transport coordination.
Perform health screenings, including audiometric, spirometry, and drug/alcohol testing.
Respond to on-site medical emergencies and manage injury cases for employees and contractors.
Support site emergency drills and collaborate with medical personnel on protocols.
Maintain emergency vehicles, provide driver training, and assist with Mine Rescue testing.
Assist with security tasks, including site entry processing, camera monitoring, and patrols.
Issue severe weather notices, monitor compliance.
Qualifications
Current and unrestricted registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.
Strong knowledge of legislation, protocols, and scope of practice for PCPs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
Drug & alcohol testing certificate.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
