Role: Market Intelligence Analyst - Pricing Research Analyst

Job Type: Permanent

Location: 3 days/week Hybrid in Guelph, ON

Our client, a very well-known Service company, is looking to hire a MI Analyst on a permanent basis.

Your New Role:

The Market Intelligence Analyst, reporting into the VP of Sales Operations, is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to support management in making insightful business decisions. You will obtain information from a variety of sources, focusing on the same industry, regional trends, customer needs, competitive offerings, and product differentiation. This analysis will lead to actionable outcomes, including value-driven pricing strategies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Insights: Collect and interpret data from various sources, including social intelligence, industry publications, internal transactions, NPS, Salesforce, MS BI, and others, to identify patterns in the data that enhance understanding of our customers and partners.
  2. Competitive Intelligence: Gather information on competitors and analyze their products, prices, and market strategies.
  3. Market Dynamics: Provide insights on relevant market research and operational information, including competition landscape, growth trajectories, pricing strategies, and data analysis.
  4. Strategic Pricing Analysis: Implement and manage internal pricing strategies, including dynamic pricing models, tiered pricing structures, and value-based pricing approaches.
  5. Customer Needs Analysis: Analyze potential market and product gaps across the Company’s new and existing portfolio.
  6. Performance Analysis: Evaluate the success of internal pricing and product strategies through post-hoc analysis.
  7. Regional Analysis: Maintain in-depth knowledge of designated regional markets and trends through reports, market research, team insights, data manipulation, and financial modeling and analysis.
  8. Additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree (and/or Master’s) in Finance, Business, Accounting, Data Science, or Math/Statistics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of similar professional experience is required.
  • CPA/MBA or other relevant qualification is an asset.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, along with an understanding of financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to balance multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional computer skills with expertise in MS Excel (formulas), Salesforce, Power BI, and large ERP/Financial Systems.
  • Sound business acumen and client-service orientation with a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel and weekend work may be required.
