MDT Manufacturing - Harmonic Plant, a cutting-edge manufacturer in Chilliwack with a dynamic team, is looking to hire a Preventative Maintenance Technician. Position Overview: The Preventative Maintenance Technician will focus on preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting for CNC machines and other mechanical equipment within our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone with 2–5 years of experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to grow their expertise in CNC technology. The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing machine downtime and ensuring efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and other automated equipment, according to established schedules.
  2. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure equipment is operating at optimal performance levels.
  3. Assist with basic troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on CNC equipment.
  4. Clean and maintain machine components to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
  5. Collaborate with senior technicians to diagnose more complex issues and support repairs as needed.
  6. Document maintenance activities, findings, and completed tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  7. Work alongside the production team to minimize downtime and address operational concerns promptly.
  8. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or certifications in a mechanical or technical field (e.g., Millwright, CNC Technology) preferred.
  2. 2–5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Basic knowledge of CNC machines and willingness to learn more about CNC systems and controls.
  4. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  5. Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and safety protocols.
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and basic blueprints.
  7. Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience working with specific CNC systems (e.g., Haas, OKUMA, FANUC).
  2. Familiarity with lubrication systems, alignment techniques, and basic calibration processes.
  3. Previous exposure to industrial machinery or manufacturing equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
