Job Overview

South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (SVNH) operates a licensed 20 space preschool program from Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 12:30pm. We are seeking a creative, caring and dedicated Preschool Team Lead for our preschool program.

Role and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the leadership, supervision and administration of the program.
• Lead the staff team to plan, evaluate, and implement daily activities in line with SVNH philosophy that support and promote the development of the whole child.
• Work in partnership with the Coordinator and Director to explore and implement innovative programming.
• Build and maintain supportive and collaborative relationships with families and community service providers.
• Adapt to changing circumstances, handle emergencies skillfully using discretion and confidentiality.
• Ensure best practices, licensing requirements and SVNH policies and procedures are met for the program.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid BC ECE license to practice, First Aid and Food Safe.
• Valid Special Needs ECE license to practice is an asset.
• Clear Criminal Record Check upon hire.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed childcare in a leadership role.
• Knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and BC Childcare Licensing Regulations.
• Able to provide reflective and emergent curriculum.
• Strong communication and team building skills.
• Enjoys working in an inclusive and diverse community.
• Second language in Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Punjabi or Hindi is an asset.
• Passion for professional development and growth.

Employment Terms

• Schedule: September to June, Monday to Friday, 25hr/wk.
• Type: Regular Part Time.
• Wage: $24.32-$26.05 depending on experience, skills and qualifications. Plus $6 Wage Enhancement.
