Overview
Located in Ottawa, Canada, Lumentum’s R&D Team is developing a high speed, high precision 3D camera using state-of-the-art optical technology. You will be part of a nimble, fast-moving team that is developing this camera from the ground up. In addition to getting exposed to the technical aspect of the camera, all team members get exposed to the end-solution which involves many of the world’s top automotive manufacturers.


The Opportunity

This is a four month contract position (Jan.- Apr. 2025), 37.5 hours a week.
Due to the hardware and hands-on nature of this project we require employees to be onsite.


Responsibilities
The 3D Camera Process Engineer - Contract (New Grad) responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:

  1. Become familiar with Lumentum’s optical alignment automation platform and manufacturing data management systems
  2. Lead and support in the advances of manual and automated processes
  3. Conduct measurement studies - execute specific measurement plans, analyze results, and produce reports
  4. Set up tests with instrumentation and manage testing/tool areas
  5. Evidence collection, handling, and storage

Education Qualifications
• Graduated in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree granting program

Desired Skills & Qualifications
• Knowledgeable with lean manufacturing techniques
• Enjoy working in a lab environment and with various types of high-end test equipment
