Our Maintenance Department is looking for a certified 4th Class Power Engineer to join the team!

This is a temporary position with full-time hours that will end at the closing of the facility.

What’s involved in this Power Engineer role:

1. Operating and maintaining the ammonia refrigeration systems within code requirement
2. Operating and maintaining high pressure steam boilers
3. Operating and maintaining wastewater treatment system
4. Monitoring and responding to plant alarms
5. Performing specific preventative maintenance work and lubrication tasks
6. Updating maintenance logs and records
7. Completing work orders as assigned by Chief Engineer
8. Working with others to plan and coordinate the completion of work
9. Performing building maintenance tasks throughout the facility as needed
10. Providing a high level of customer service through a proactive approach to daily plant problems and issues
11. Driving innovation and continuous improvement, utilizing his/her skills, observations, and participation
12. Ensuring all maintenance work is conducted within Safety, Food Safety, and Product Quality fundamental requirements

What you need to join our Winnipeg team:

1. 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate
2. Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are preferred
3. Must be physically fit with a good attendance and personal safety record
4. Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team member
5. Ability to maintain a clean and safe workplace
6. Good written and oral communication skills essential
7. The successful candidate must be willing to work night shifts including weekend shifts
8. Previous relevant experience in food processing/manufacturing industry is preferred
