Business Intelligence Analyst
The Business Intelligence Analyst is a mid-level position with responsibility for obtaining, developing, and analyzing data, proving/disproving hypotheses, and developing insights. The individual in this role will be expected to consult with customers to develop business requirements and provide possible solutions and approaches to their analytic needs. While expected to exhibit a significant amount of independence in interacting with business partners and in preparing analyses, the role works under the general direction of their leader and also trains, mentors, and provides work direction to associate analysts.
Responsibilities
Develop an understanding of products, systems, and processes.
Utilize storytelling techniques to engage stakeholders and inspire action based on data-driven insights.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in digital product analysis and storytelling.
Set baselines and forecast OKRs to establish performance benchmarks and predict expected outcomes.
Analyze deviations from forecasts and develop narratives to explain trends, facilitating proactive strategies to address performance variations.
Proactively define specific hypotheses/questions to evaluate and analyze based on strategies and goals.
Lead large/highly complex projects and train, mentor, and provide work direction to other BI Analysts.
Collaborate with senior leaders and business process owners to define specific hypotheses/questions and develop plans to deliver actionable insight.
Conduct highly complex SQL queries and work with other data extraction, reporting, and analytic tools to validate and/or develop analysis and reporting to provide actionable insight.
Perform investigations to identify, acquire, enhance, and/or develop new data sources, both internal and external, which will enhance the enterprise BI environment.
Identify new ongoing data needs and requirements and champion the establishment of new systems and data in partnership with IT and appropriate business areas.
Required Job Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in economics, quantitative business analysis, applied mathematics, statistics, management information systems, or equivalent experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in financial services and/or research and analytics.
Expert skill in using analytics tools (such as SAS, SPSS, Minitab, R, etc.) in a corporate environment.
Expertise in Snowflake data modeling, ELT using Snowflake SQL, implementing complex stored procedures and standard DWH and ETL concepts.
Solid analytical, project management, and time management abilities.
Proficient in conveying insights visually and verbally.
Inquisitive – Strives to comprehend the underlying “why” to reveal influential insights and trends.
Continuous learner – Committed to personal, professional, and business advancement through acquiring new knowledge and experience working with Adobe Analytics.
Efficient and effective communication skills with key business partners, tailored to client needs and expectations.
Effective in leading less experienced resources in large project work, providing assistance in consulting, design, implementation, and/or communication.
