We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Power BI Analyst to join our team on a temporary contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing insightful reports and dashboards using Power BI.
This role will support decision-making by analyzing data, creating meaningful reports, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Report and Dashboard Development: Design, build, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards based on business needs. Create interactive visualizations and reports using Power BI that provide insights into KPIs and KRIs.
  2. Data Modeling: Create and maintain complex data models that drive report insights. Integrate data from various sources including APIs, databases, Excel/CSV files, into Power BI for report generation.
  3. Data Analysis: Perform in-depth data analysis using Power BI and other tools to support strategic business decisions. Collaborate with various teams to define and gather report requirements.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs. Provide support to users on Power BI tools, ensuring they can maximize the use of reports and dashboards.
  5. Data Quality and Governance: Ensure data quality and accuracy by identifying data discrepancies and implementing solutions to improve data integrity. Collaborate with IT and data governance teams to maintain data security and best practices.
  6. Optimization: Monitor and optimize Power BI performance and resolve issues related to report generation or data accessibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years hands-on experience working with Power BI in a business intelligence or data analyst role
  • Strong understanding of Power BI desktop, Power BI service, and Power Query
  • Proficiency in data modeling, DAX Expressions, and visualization best practices
  • Experience with RLS and automated report refresh schedules in Power BI
  • Experience with Excel and VBA
  • Experience in working with large datasets from various data sources
  • Experience with Python an asset
  • Experience with Unix and Windows terminal an asset
  • Independent self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in working with large datasets from various data sources.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) for data integration.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
