Job description

The Clinical Sleep Research Unit at the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research at the Royal has exciting opportunities for a postdoctoral researcher interested in expanding their expertise in clinical research in the area of sleep, mental health, and neurosciences. The selected candidate will work on interdisciplinary projects centered on sleep phenotyping in various clinical populations (with a focus on brain-heart interactions) and investigating the delivery of adapted sleep interventions. Along with experience with human research, knowledge in sleep, mental health, neuroimaging, EEG, and/or heart rate monitoring/analysis is an asset. Having a clinical background (e.g., clinical psychologist) is also a strong asset but is not necessary. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project development and setting up project logistics.
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations including (but not limited to): data acquisition, database management, and writing up for studies involving EEG, heart rate monitoring, and neuroimaging.
  • Collaboration/coordination with interdisciplinary clinical teams for research-based clinical assessments and treatments.
  • Contribute to the supervision of honours and graduate students.
  • Opportunities are available immediately to drive publications based on previously collected data.

Required Qualifications

  • Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, or related fields.
  • Perfect mastery of English (oral and written) – French is also an asset.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and a preference for working within an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment.
