Job Summary:

We are seeking a Biologist with experience in immunology, oncology and/or molecular biology to work across multiple program areas for the development of novel therapeutics. The successful candidate will have a PhD in immunology/cell/molecular biology or a related relevant mammalian biology field, coupled with an exceptional grasp of state-of-the-art cell biology techniques. Strong awareness of industry expectations is required, along with the ability to work with lab colleagues in Montreal and across Canada. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

This is a 2-year term contract, based at adMare’s Vancouver location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with several cancer cell lines and establish key readouts for in vitro oncology assays.
  • Provide laboratory leadership with oncology and immunology projects.
  • Initiate and design of key cellular assays and in vivo experiments that replicate human disease.
  • Analyze and interpret data to develop new hypotheses.
  • Monitor and evaluate completion of tasks and drive projects to decision points.
  • Proactively investigate new or different technologies to improve the efficiency of assays.
  • Interpret and present data to scientific stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the laboratory, including the maintenance and good operation of equipment.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biology/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/immunology with hands-on experience in cell culture and/or in vivo animal model experience.
  • Skilled in flow cytometry and/or immunohistochemistry.
  • Direct experience developing either cell-based biological assays or biochemical assays.
  • Ability to work on more than one project at a time.
  • Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, independent thought, and ability to effectively collaborate with others across multiple scientific disciplines.
  • Practical experience of the following would be considered an asset:
    • In vivo mouse models.
    • Protein purification.
    • Cell and gene therapies.

Position Base Salary Range: 56,200 - 77,200

The salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
