Position: Senior Pastor

Emmanuel Lutheran is seeking a strong teacher/preacher to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to
our church family in order to fulfill our mission and purpose. Come to Faith, Honor God’s Word.
Pastor shall:

1. Provide Worship Leadership by placing a high value on carefully planned and well conducted worship services.
2. Preach the Word properly; distinguishing between law and gospel as it applies to the lives of people.
3. Provide ministry to youth/young adults by teaching, working with and relating well with confirmation students, high school youth and young adults.
4. Administer the sacraments.
5. Lead evangelism by reaching out with the good news of Jesus Christ.
6. Support and nurture church attendees, visiting with them in settings other than church functions.
7. Offer instruction, confirm, marry, visit the sick and distressed and conduct funeral services.
8. Work with Traditional and Contemporary worship services.
9. Install regularly elected members of the Church Council and other Ministry Leaders.
10. Seek out and encourage persons to prepare for the ministry of the Gospel and strive to extend the Kingdom of God in the community, nation and abroad.
11. Endeavor to increase the congregation’s sense of partnership in the broader work of the Kingdom of God.
12. Provide general oversight and leadership over church staff and ministry activities in partnership with Church Council. Direct reports would include: part time secretary, part time youth minister, 2 part time custodians, 3 organists/pianists, 1 praise band leader/keyboardist.
13. Equip believers for ministry, helping each to identify gifts for ministry both within and beyond the congregation, training and supporting every member in their ministries, encouraging gifted and trained members to use their gifts in ministry.
14. Work together with the Church Council for the benefit of all believers.

Requirements:

1. Master of Divinity
2. LCMC Certified or willing to become LCMC certified
3. Strong Biblical Foundation
4. Skills to lead meaningful worship services
5. Ability to support and nurture by visiting those in need
