Organizational Information
Purpose of your Position: At the direction of the RCMP Officer in Charge, a Police Services Data Analyst performs complex data analysis to support the enhanced monitoring and reporting of crimes, develops and implements stronger police and community safety performance metrics, enables data-driven decision-making, and enhances internal capacity to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and oversight of RCMP resources.
Duties
- Conducts, evaluates, researches, and critically analyzes data, to provide support and recommendations on a wide range of strategic and operational issues.
- Develops and applies appropriate methodologies for conducting police service data collection and research.
- Creates visual aides to support interpretation of analytics related to policing and community safety.
- Conducts analytics related to resource deployment, forecasting trends and emerging issues.
- Provides analysis and input to enhance monitoring and reporting of crime.
- Engages in strategic plan process and updating reports.
- Develops and maintains data collection and analysis projects.
- Drafts and prepares reports and presentations.
- Ensures and upholds the information sharing agreement between the Kelowna RCMP and the City of Kelowna Community Safety Department.
Additional Hiring Information
Pay Rate: Starts at $47.75 per hour with 2 step progressions to $50.78 per hour
