Job Description
Reporting to the Global Leader, Planning and Project Services, the Project Management Office (PMO) Senior Manager is responsible for the leadership of the IT Project Management Office (PMO). This role ensures that the organization’s projects are managed effectively and delivered on time and within budget. The PMO Sr. Manager will champion the development of new processes and drive the continuous improvement of project management practices and leadership reporting within the IT organization.
This role is based fully onsite out of our Mississauga, ON office location.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE:
PMO Management:
- Lead, manage and oversee the Project Management Office, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Ensure the successful delivery and management of single or multiple projects within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints that may be clearly defined, or require dynamic change management to deliver business value.
- Maintain a PMO framework and governance structure to support the successful delivery of projects.
- Monitor and report on project performance, providing visibility and transparency to the IT leadership team.
Resource Management:
- Ensure efficient resource allocation and capacity planning across projects.
- Develop and maintain capacity and resource management models and capabilities, including the introduction of project resource calls for project resource assignments.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and other PMO staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence in project management.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers on complex projects and issues to ensure effective outcomes.
- Analyze project scope to make recommendations on estimated time frames and appropriate processes for accomplishing work.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, business leaders, and project sponsors.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between project teams and stakeholders.
- Own the monthly PMO meeting with the IT Senior Leadership including the preparation and/or presentation of required reports on the health of the projects currently in execution.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Support Project Managers in the development of mitigation and contingency plans to address potential project challenges.
- Ensure that project risks and issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- Drive the continuous improvement of project management practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in project management.
- Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned to enhance future project delivery.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in establishing, managing and evolving a PMO is a must.
- Strong experience in capacity planning and resource management is also a must.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification required.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, Planview).
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., ITIL, ISO, etc.).
WORK AUTHORIZATIONS AND TRAVEL:
- 10% business travel slated to Europe.
