Plumber

Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a Plumber to work out of our Hamilton location. This role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems. The successful applicant will be part of a team to maintain and develop an enterprise application suite that aligns with the organization's strategic objectives.

What will you do as the Plumber

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure their proper functioning, including identifying and repairing leaks, clogs, and other issues in a timely manner to prevent downtime and minimize disruptions to operations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems and perform necessary repairs or replacements of damaged components, including valves, faucets, pipes, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Perform general preventive maintenance of buildings, industrial systems, and equipment including pumps and various plumbing fixtures.
• Conduct pressure tests and leak tests to ensure the integrity and safety of plumbing systems, verifying that systems meet regulatory standards and building codes.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities, documenting inspections, repairs, parts used, and other relevant information.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines when working with hazardous materials or in confined spaces.
• Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
• Diagnose mechanical and plumbing issues and correct them.
• Repair machines and equipment as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:

• Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing.
• Relevant experience working as a plumber in an industrial setting preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of industrial plumbing systems, materials, and tools.
• Strong understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Required to work in industrial and outdoor environments within Health and Safety standards and regulations.
• Physical requirements will range from frequent to occasional lifting, carrying, bending, and reaching, with the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including tight spaces and heights.
• Shift work may be required.
• Must be able to lift 34kg (75lb).
