The Position:
MDA Space is seeking a PLM Business Analyst to be part of the Business Transformation Team. This role focuses on transforming our PLM to become the foundation of our digital transformation. This position ensures that the entire product lifecycle is efficiently managed and optimized through technology and business processes. As a Business Analyst PLM, you will act as a partner to the business community with an integrated approach to people, processes, data and systems across functional groups. As a member of the PLM Core team, you will bring great value in the development of a robust roadmap for digital PLM platform implementation by driving process changes within the business.
A successful candidate has a good understanding of the entire lifecycle of a product, from ideation and design to production, maintenance, and disposal. The Business Analyst will combine knowledge on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes in combination with systems and data expertise to support implementation. The incumbent will continuously improve processes and the tool by implementing user feedback and industry trends.
The successful candidate must have a good ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of interest for innovation and industry 5.0 principles. As part of the Corporate Business Transformation team, the PLM Business Analyst will execute cross-company projects across MDA Space Business areas.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders (engineering, product, manufacturing, quality, etc.) to understand product lifecycle requirements.
- Elicit, document, and analyze business and system requirements for PLM software solutions.
- Develop functional specifications.
- Use company vision as a driver.
- Strategically design a solution to enable future collaboration, scalability, and new technology requirements.
2. Process Mapping & Improvement:- Map existing processes and workflows, identifying inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Recommend process improvements, tools, and solutions to enhance product lifecycle management.
- Understand the end-to-end processes (not limited to the PLM function).
- Participate and/or lead specification workshops.
3. System Implementation & Support:- Support the implementation and integration of PLM systems i.e. Siemens Teamcenter.
- Assist in system configuration, integration of system (golden triangle), data migration, and testing.
- Ensure the PLM system aligns with business goals and industry standards.
- Be the point of escalation for users in the use of the PLM process and systems.
- Act as a process expert on PLM.
- Have a big picture view of the implementation by understanding the impact on other people, processes, or tools.
4. Stakeholder Communication and Change Management:- Work closely with cross-functional teams (product development, IT, operations) to ensure the solution meets business needs.
- Provide training and support to end-users on tools and processes.
- Always have the end user in mind.
- Support the stakeholder in different change management phases.
5. Documentation & Reporting:- Create user manuals, process documentation, and system specifications.
- Prepare status reports and presentations to management on project progress.
- Perform feasibility studies and process design reviews.
6. Quality & Compliance:- Ensure that the PLM system adheres to industry standards, regulations, and quality control processes.
- Support audits and compliance checks as required.
Job Qualifications and Experience:- Educational Background: A degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant experience.
- Experience: 5 years experience in PLM systems implementation or support, or working within product development, configuration, or manufacturing environments. Experience with ECAD, MCAD.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLM software (Windchill, Teamcenter, etc.), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools. Basic understanding of system integrations and data management. Experience with Siemens Teamcenter.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze business needs, process flows, and technical requirements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end-users.
- Project Management: Experience managing or participating in PLM-related projects is often preferred.
Preferred Skills:- Knowledge of specific industries (automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, etc.).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
- Experience with MOM, MES, QMS systems.
- Certifications related to PLM systems or business analysis.
- Expertise in REST APIs and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with UI/UX design collaboration and integration of React components into PLM systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Bilingual (English French).

The compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $105,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
