Job description

The East Gwillimbury Soccer Club promotes and develops the game of soccer within the community of East Gwillimbury to help individuals develop their character as resourceful and responsible members of the community. We are in a time of innovation, evolution, and growth. With an exploding membership base, the organization is expanding both its Grassroots and Competitive programming to better serve our membership. Our technical department is made up of part-time/seasonal staff who believe in our Player Pathway model of development. With our professional coach model at the development stages, each team is overseen by a club-provided staff coach with the support of volunteer team officials beneath them. Our staff coaches gain compensation levels based on licensing, experience, and availability.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic coaches to assist with the long-term player development of our youth players. Our Player Development Coaches will provide leadership and guidance to players within our various development teams & programs. The staff coach may be appointed (in consultation) to any of the following leadership positions:

Development: Talons in Training (U7-U12), Competitive Teams (U13-U18)

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Coach children of various ages and skill levels focusing on the individual needs of each player.
  2. Assist in the development of resources and tools to aid in the development of our players.
  3. Program Administration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and conduct soccer practice sessions which are commensurate with the level of the participants.
  2. Work within the framework of the East Gwillimbury Player Development Plan to provide technical leadership and direction to the players within the various stages of the player development pathway.
  3. Communicate schedules and program information to parents (when required).
  4. Attend and participate in coaching workshops, meetings, training, and planning sessions.
  5. Assist all members of the technical team with the implementation of all other aspects related to player and coach development within the player development program.

Qualifications:

  1. Upon hiring, successful completion of age-appropriate coaching certifications is required.
  2. Playing experience is considered an asset.
  3. Some experience teaching soccer programs, coaching soccer, and experience with a wide variety of ages is an asset.
  4. Experience in working with children in a structured setting is beneficial.
