Responsibilities:

1. Take a leadership role in the Health and Safety plan, setting objectives and programs that will comply with organizational standards. Maintain/ensure compliance to a Total Preventative Maintenance Program and maintain/ensure compliance to a Quality Assurance Program.
2. Define and implement the standards that will reduce the cost of doing business, which specifically encompass the following: machine up times, labour down times, shipping & receiving, on-time delivery, material planning, and maintenance, which includes plant & equipment assessments and repairs/replacements.
3. Ensure a positive environment within the plant where performance standards can be established.
4. Be proactive in problem solving & process improvement capabilities.
5. Develop and coach employees to support continued growth in their job and overall career development.
6. Define and implement policies, maintain ISO standards and procedures that will contribute to achieving short and long-term objectives.
7. Work with unit management to develop and support current sales plans and future marketing initiatives and performance standards (i.e. On Time Delivery).
8. Take an active role in the daily metals processing activities.

Job Requirements:

1. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience (preferably in a unionized environment).
2. Strong people skills with proven leadership ability (lead, motivate, delegate).
3. Experienced in the manufacturing/fabrication environment.
4. Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills.
5. Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
6. Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
7. Drafting and/or drawing experience.
