Plant/Process Operator (5/5/4 Schedule)

NSB Omega is searching for multiple Plant/Process Operators for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Cold Lake, AB, for a 5/5/4 Schedule.

Tasks & Responsibilities

1. Work cooperatively with Contractor personnel to prepare and maintain a safe work environment for their work.
2. Responsible for participation in the Operations Emergency Response activities relating to the Area.
3. Provide support and coordination with the Systems Completion team in start-up and commissioning of the facilities.
4. Take part in the review of work packages for planned maintenance activities within allocated Area, confirms that isolation requirements are applied, and ensures that the preparation of equipment is planned in a manner that provides a safe environment in which personnel can work.
5. Endorse Work Permits as the Area Operator (AO). Endorse Work Permits as the Isolating Authority (IA) when required.
6. Encourages team effort between Maintenance and Operations groups.
7. Supports work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and to complement the efforts of other work groups.
8. Ensuring the CRT is informed and consulted about operations and major issues.
9. Ensures good communication between Areas so that issues can be adequately addressed and actions completed.
10. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in allocated Area.
11. Maintain a daily log and shift changeover notes.
12. Safely perform physical tasks at times, e.g., moving drums of chemicals, lifting, climbing ladders/silos/tanks.
13. May perform minor maintenance to equipment.
14. Maintain a high standard of plant housekeeping.
15. Make process changes to ensure quality control of end products that are within accepted standards.

Skills & Qualifications

1. 5+ years’ industry experience in operations, or similar; required.
2. 3rd Class Power Engineering Required.
3. Steam Class an Asset.
4. Extensive knowledge in production operations/processes.
5. Extensive knowledge in P&IDs, PFD’s and UFD’s.
6. Able to read shutdown logic diagrams.
7. Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others.
8. Excellent communications (oral & written) in English.
9. Excellent interpersonal and motivation skills.
10. Ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment.
11. Advanced understanding and operation of Emergency Preparedness Procedures.
12. Advanced knowledge of safety management tools and processes. (Permit to Work (PTW), Stepback 5x5, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment).
13. Understanding of Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS), safety management tools and Production Operations Best Practices (POBP)/ Planning & Budgeting (P&B) processes.

Must have the following Certifications prior to starting:

• Fall Arrest
• Confined Space entry
• First Aid

• Cold Lake, AB, must reside in Cold Lake or provide your own flights.
• 5/5/4 Schedule.
• No camp provided, responsible for your own housing.
