Dufferin Asphalt, A CRH Company is accepting applications for the position of Plant Operator/Batcher for its Cambridge Asphalt Plant.

Responsibilities:

1. Learn and operate the plant controls to produce hot-mix asphalt based on production/quality specifications.
2. Operate heavy equipment included but not limited to front-end loaders, Skid Steer and Water & Dump Trucks.
3. Assist the plant foremen with daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
4. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by addressing issues, questions, or concerns in a timely manner.
5. Detect and prevent potential safety hazards as well as any equipment/component malfunctions.
6. Perform necessary maintenance and repairs. This includes but not limited to working at heights & confined spaces.

What Makes a Successful Candidate?

1. Previous experience batching and loading trucks preferred.
2. Previous asphalt plant or equivalent environment preferred.
3. Flexibility to work for extended periods of time/rotating shifts including nights, holidays & weekends.
4. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
5. Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn.
6. Excellent planning, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Welding and Oxy/acetylene torch experience is an asset.
8. Computer knowledge with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
9. Ability to travel to additional plant locations to support operational requirements.
10. Valid G class driver's license required.
