We are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, talented individual to join our placement team who shares our commitment to quality education and student success.
The candidate must possess knowledge of student field placement procedures, health services field, and have experience working directly with International Students.
Reporting to the Dean, this job requires developing, maintaining, and coordinating placements for students in the Office Administration program, which are required to complete at the end of the students’ academic term.
The Placement Coordinator will seek out contracts and manage external and internal stakeholder relationships.
Job Requirement: On-Campus, In-Person; this is not a remote position
Day-to-Day Job Duties:
- Placement Coordinator(s) will be responsible for managing day-to-day placement operations of SSW-Gerontology and Office Administration in Healthcare Programs
- Reporting weekly to the Associate Director Field Placements with progress reports of placement processes
- Responsible for supporting students from beginning to end of placement
- Responsible for ensuring there are enough placement sites, contracts and availability for Ace Acumen Academy at St. Clair College students
- Manage cohort size of 250 students per semester
- Knowledge of program operations and student advising within the program
- Conduct workshops for students and ensure timelines and deadlines are met for the program
- Ensure a high graduation rate by supporting students through programs and conducting the correct matches for students to meet their individual needs
- Work alongside Program Lead and Placement Coordinator(s) to ensure deadlines and goals are met for the SSW – Gerontology, Health Care program
- Demonstrate knowledge of program coordination and potential placement sites required for matching the students
- Prepare presentation and outreach materials to promote the program where necessary
- Ability to make good judgment and evaluate students prior to and during placement
- Teach the Office Administration, Healthcare placement courses
- Other duties as required assigned
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum Requirement: Office Administration in HealthCare or Social Service Worker Bachelor degree in Social Services field, with specialization in Gerontology / Geriatric Study; Master’s degree preferred
- Relevant professional experience - working with seniors in a long-term care facility, retirement home, assisted living, etc. is considered an asset
- Experience in a post-secondary setting, skills pertaining to international students is an asset
- Experience working with, supporting, and recruiting external stakeholders is an asset
- Skills and experience working with a multicultural clientele
- Strong working knowledge of Office Administration, Health Care and resources available within the GTA
- Excellent interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills and behavior management skills
- Ability to comply with policies regarding confidentiality, privacy and record keeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Criminal reference check completed within the last 6 months is required
- Must have a valid Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle
