We are actively seeking an experienced Thermal Pipeline Integrity Coordinator to join our team to support Strathcona’s thermal assets near Cold Lake, AB and Meota, SK. The position will be based in our Lloydminster, AB office or possibly at a field office in one of the operating areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with operations, maintenance, and facilities/construction teams to effectively implement and sustain the corporate Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) and Pipeline Operating and Maintenance Manual (POMM).
  • Works with operations and pressure equipment integrity teams to recognize various pipeline threats including internal corrosion and erosion, coating failures, vibration, geo-hazards, corrosion under insulation and stress corrosion cracking.
  • Extensive utilization of corporate pipeline integrity software to:
    • Manage failure probability and consequences data.
    • Implement and track monitoring, inspection, and mitigation strategies.
    • Develop risk reduction plans for high and moderate risk lines.
  • Prepares annual integrity budgets and monitors cost and execution progress.
  • Facilitates regular field integrity meetings (FIM’s) with operations, maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Supports internal and regulatory pipeline audits and conformance reviews.
  • Supports pipeline incident investigations and failure analysis.
  • Supports operations on effective application of the corporate Leak Detection Program.
  • Provides technical and regulatory support to operations, maintenance, construction, facilities/production/development engineering and HSER teams.
  • Supports pipeline license amendments, engineering assessments, repairs and MOC’s.
Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of pipeline integrity principles including damage mechanisms, inspection, condition monitoring, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas production operations including pipelines and associated infrastructure including well pads, oil processing and water injection facilities.
  • Familiar with pipeline codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Advanced computer skills, familiar with all Microsoft applications. Experience with pipeline integrity management and GIS mapping software.
  • Strong communication, analytical and teamwork abilities.
Education And Experience:

  • 5 years operational and/or integrity related experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Post-secondary education in a technical field is preferred.
  • Any corrosion (NACE), inspection (API), or other technical certifications are considered an asset.
Work Environment:

The ideal candidate will be based out of Strathcona’s Lloydminster, AB office with a regular field presence at our Cold Lake, AB and Meota / Edam, Saskatchewan thermal oil facilities, or based out of a field office in one of the operating areas.
