North West Geomatics Ltd. (NWG), specializes in digital remote sensing, digital aerial photography, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and related services in North America and the international market. For years, NWG has been a pioneer in developing various techniques to maximize efficiency and productivity, both in photo acquisition and the subsequent photogrammetric tasks. By dedicating a significant portion of our resources to continuing research and development, NWG remains at the leading edge in the aerial photography industry. The company has earned a reputation for fast, efficient service in all phases of aerial photography including project planning, photo acquisition, processing and quality control. NWG is part of Hexagon.

NWG is currently considering Full Time Pilot candidates. The ideal individual is a hard working, self-motivated pilot who can work independently and as part of a team in a safe, professional manner that will maximize production efforts. This is a single pilot position working with an airborne sensor operator for all photo missions. Being away from home for up to 5 weeks is a requirement. Some pilot duties include:

  • The safety of the crew onboard, as this will remain the top priority.
  • Monitoring weather, NOTAMS, and airspace restrictions for the planned flight.
  • Communicating with ATC, military, and other agencies with appropriate information.
  • Flight planning, weight and balance checks, and company operational flight plans.
  • Conducting a thorough pre-flight inspection of the aircraft, including fueling and surface contamination.
  • Operating the aircraft safely within the confines of the appropriate regulations, airworthiness certificate, pilot operator’s handbook (POH) & its supplements.
  • Maintaining a listening watch with all other aircraft and ATC while airborne to conduct missions safely, and to react accordingly should plans change mid-mission.
  • Assisting the maintenance department with any maintenance related issues to minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Logging aircraft details after mission completion.
  • Completing flight duties including aircraft logbook entries, daily duty sheets and travel calendar, and personal logbook updates.
  • Installing and removing the sensor equipment for repairs or moving from one aircraft to another.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Captain Qualifications:

US FAA Commercial or US FAA Airline License REQUIRED – NOT NEGOTIABLE

  • Only having a Canadian Pilots license does not meet the minimum requirement.
  • Recent C441 or F406 experience required.
  • Multi-IFR rated and current.
  • 1000 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • No accidents / violations.
  • No criminal convictions.
  • Current and valid Passport and Drivers License.
  • No Restrictions to work in Canada, US, or internationally.
  • Preference given to those candidates with time on type with C441 & F406 aircraft, turbine experience, and survey experience.
