Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant - SBH General Surgery ACSS - 20018713 - (1684)
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant for a full-time position in General Surgery ACSS at St. Boniface Hospital. This position is exciting and fast-paced and will include managing patients in clinics, on the wards, and assisting in the operating room.
Responsibilities
- The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will be required to perform, order, and interpret diagnostic, therapeutic investigations/interventions.
- Duties of this position can/will include performing history and physical exams in a variety of settings that could include the Emergency Department and wards, as well as following patients in the pre/peri/postoperative ward and/or other clinical settings.
- Assistants must be able to communicate effectively in English with other members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistants will be required to attend clinical and educational rounds.
- Administrative requirements will include standard of practice recordings of all patient encounters, these methods may require dictating or utilizing electronic medical records where/when available.
Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications and is accompanied by a benefits package.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
- Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM.
Clinical Assistants:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical School in Canada or abroad.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- Clinical Assistant Assessment
- NAC OSCE
- LMCC
