Licensing Requirements:
- Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License
- Full Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage is mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) or eligible
- Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) or eligible
Role and Facility Information
Canadian Pain & Regenerative Institute (CPRI) is hiring a part-time/full-time physiatrist. We are a relatively new (2019) multi-disciplinary pain clinic located in the West Broadway corridor in the heart of Vancouver, BC. Our clinic comprises practitioners from Physiatry, Primary Care Sports Medicine, Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Psychology, and Registered Clinical Counselling.
The role of the physiatrist will be to see referrals from the community of referring physicians, including family physicians, orthopedic colleagues, and other specialties requesting musculoskeletal Physiatry assessments.
CPRI is also a teaching facility for medical students, residents, and fellows from various programs at the University of British Columbia. Our staff hold appointments as Faculty of Medicine in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Anesthesia, and Family Medicine.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- FRCPC in their specialty or AAPMR Certification
- Eligible for licensure with CPSBC (independent/provisional/associate/USA certified)
- Canadian Permanent Residency or be a Canadian citizen or other valid status
Compensation:
• Overhead: fixed split percentage overhead model
The physician will be provided full-time/part-time work including:
- Utilization of clinic space and the procedural facilities.
- Utilization of the clinic’s well-established referral network.
- Efficient flow of new referrals.
- Collegial environment with one of the largest MSK Physiatry groups.
- Access to advanced spine interventions performed in-house for fellowship-trained interventional spine physicians.
- Access to EMG and NCS within the group.
- Access to multidisciplinary services including in-house physio, psychology, counselling, OT, and more.
