Location: Montreal, QC

Description

The photographer plays a key role in the production of high-quality images, as well as the development and maintenance of an efficient production studio. The ideal candidate will possess an eye for detail, experience in photography and have a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review and organize daily tasks, ensuring all files are prioritized effectively to meet production timelines and client expectations;
  2. Capture images that meet GS1 Canada standards, ensuring consistent quality;
  3. Evaluate and assess the condition of sample products received and determine if condition is good or requires a high level of work effort for the graphic artists team;
  4. Optimize image capture techniques to ensure image exposure, lighting and colors are set up appropriately for each product standard;
  5. Ensure that proper naming convention is used to file images;
  6. Ensure all photography equipment required is present and functional to maintain maximum studio efficiency;
  7. Assist in improving production efficiencies and workflow;
  8. Align work practices with the studio's "center of excellence" values, focusing on quality and efficiency;
  9. Ensure that images are delivered to subscribers within established deadlines;
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned, remaining flexible and proactive in supporting the studio's dynamic needs and goals.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  1. College diploma in photography or equivalent;
  2. 1-3 years of experience in product photography;
  3. Experience in capturing products, table-top photography, 2D, planogram, Ecommerce and nutrition an asset;
  4. Relevant knowledge of the mechanical workings of photographic equipment;
  5. Experience with Master lighting studio technique;
  6. Proven proficiency in Photoshop in a professional environment;
  7. Relevant experience in Photo lab (Digital and/or film);
  8. Attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring quality standards are met;
  9. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and bend to pick up products up to 49 lbs up to 25% of the time;
  10. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time or climb a stepladder;
  11. Good communication skills, both verbal and written in French;
  12. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, respecting diverse perspectives and contributing to shared goals;
  13. Adaptability and flexibility to manage change and remain productive in dynamic environments;
  14. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
