POSITION SUMMARY

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is seeking a Philanthropy Data-Entry Coordinator to process donor gifts and assist in fundraising data entry. This is a part-time on-site position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Process and enter donor contributions and update donor records using Tessitura, our customer relationship management (CRM) system; accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
  2. Oversee coding of gifts, daily reconciliation, maintain codes for campaigns, appeals, sources.
  3. Respond to donor inquiries relating to contributions by phone and email; print and mail relevant information upon request.
  4. Pull and provide data and reporting when requested by Philanthropy Database Manager, Finance and Operations teams. This may include attendance lists and daily giving reports.
  5. General administrative responsibilities such as mail merge, copying and scanning information.
  6. Analyze data and perform database maintenance and quality improvement through regular clean-up tasks and audits, merging accounts and identifying data elements that require annual review and updates.
  7. Recommend process and policy improvements, including address updates, record deceasing, duplicate record and relationship management.
  8. Provide support for acknowledgement and tributes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year of general office and customer service experience required; experience in a non-profit fundraising environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential; knowledge of best practices related to constituent records management, data entry, and gift processing is preferred.
  • Well versed in general administrative and computer skills; experience with CRMs and fund development software such as Raiser’s Edge, Tessitura, or Altru, particularly related to data entry, a plus.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate Excel, ability to use vlookup and mail merge preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere with a customer/donor-centric attitude
  • Highly capable of handling multiple tasks, projects and timelines, including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills through oral and written communication when interacting with both internal and external constituents
  • Commitment to the mission of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Knowledge of orchestral music and the performing arts a plus.

This role is part-time and pays between $16-$22/hour, based upon experience and abilities.
