Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient Pharmacy - Casual 2025-12710 (2025-12710)

Summary Of Duties

We currently have a casual position for a Pharmacy Technician in the Ambulatory Patient Pharmacy (Outpatient Pharmacy).

Key responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician include but are not limited to:

• Performing functions while meeting standards of accuracy and speed;
• Filling prescriptions using automation (Symphony/Innovations) and workflow management software (Kroll);
• Compounding mixtures and other necessary medications;
• Checking prescriptions as needed;
• Completing necessary mathematical calculations;
• Ensuring accuracy in cash register transactions;
• Preparation of daily cash reconciliation;
• Preparing orders for delivery;
• Inventory management;
• Ordering and receiving medications and supplies.

Qualifications/Skills

• Qualified to be regulated by the Ontario College of Pharmacists leading to licensure as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician within 18 months of graduation;
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Intern after graduation;
• Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Works well in a team environment;
• Self-motivated to succeed and able to take initiative;
• Reliable and punctual;
• Proficient in computer and data entry skills;
• Previous customer service skills strongly preferred;
• Knowledge of retail pharmacy computer system strongly preferred (Kroll);
• Knowledge of third party billing preferred.
