POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fitness Manager leads and maintains the day-to-day strategies and operations of the Personal Training Program. This role manages and develops a team of Personal Trainers setting goals and milestones for increasing sales, maintaining client retention, maintaining branding, and creating a satisfying member experience.
This role is also responsible for providing personal training services to members and external clients during non-service hours according to club financial and revenue goals.
Operations Management
• Enhance revenue by providing additional personal training services to existing and new members.
• Monitor new member integration services ensuring execution to organizational standards.
• Ensure that the personal training team are giving high quality services and assistance to members when needed and educate new members to the gym environment.
• Meet targeted sales and earned revenue goals by driving accountability through day-to-day tasks and production.
• Assist in developing and maintaining structured workout programs.
• Stay abreast on latest updates in fitness industry.
• Ensure gym facility and equipment is maintained, clean, safe, and in good order.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of personal training services, preparing and ensuring accuracy of weekly schedules for work assignment availability.
• Organize educational training, seminars, and meetings for personal training staff for business growth.
• Resolve member issues and complaints pertaining to personal training and other areas of the club as required.
• Ensure that all employees and members adhere to organizational procedures and policies.
People and Resource Management
• Recruit and train Personal Trainers based on business requirements of the clubs.
• Provide performance, leadership, coaching and mentoring to staff related to best practice, professional conduct, contribution to the Ayrfit vision, relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee and facilitate performance management and ensure all team members understand their key accountabilities and perform to the expected goals.
• Provide leadership in development of team communication and cohesiveness.
Personal Training
• Present the Personal Training program benefits to all members and demonstrate the value of these programs.
• Enroll members into personal training and structure and lead exercise programs designed to their goals, adjusting goals and exercises as needed.
• Meet individual monthly sales and revenue goals through a variety of fee for service customized exercise programs to contribute to the clubs’ overall financial and revenue goals.
• Motivate members and drive accountability in achieving fitness goals.
• Maintain a detailed log of client progress and consultation follow-ups.
• Adhere to documented new member integration protocols.
• Educate members in proper use of weight resistance and cardiovascular equipment.
• Assist in maintaining a neat, organized, and clean club.
• Assist in club promotions where applicable.
• Actively integrate in the clubs’ member base for prospecting purposes.
• Continuously seek out new referrals from both existing member base and potential new external prospects.
• Meet daily prospecting goals by calling both active and inactive member lists.
• Attend weekly staff production meetings, training programs and continuing education seminars.

• Current Personal Training Certification plus five years of customer service experience.
• Current CPR Certification within the last year.
• Experience working in a sale’s driven environment.

• Evening and weekend hours required.
• Valid drivers license with access to own car in good repair is required.
• Must work the month of January. (This is non-negotiable).
• May be required to work the last 3 days of the month, pending completion of individual and club goals.
• Must adhere to club’s personal work out times criteria.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
