Job Description:

• Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Support: Help clients move around safely, including transferring from bed to chair or assisting with walking.
• Medication Support: Monitor and assist clients with medication reminders and adherence (under supervision where applicable).
• Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to clients' dietary needs and preferences.
• Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship, engage in recreational activities, and maintain a positive, supportive environment.
• Health Monitoring: Observe and report on the health and well-being of clients, noting changes in physical or mental condition, and inform the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
• Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying up to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records of daily activities, services provided, and changes in the client’s condition or needs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with family members, healthcare professionals, and other team members to provide holistic care.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of a Personal Support Worker program from an accredited institution.
• First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
• Previous experience in home care or healthcare settings is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures and practices related to personal care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and patient with a strong desire to help others.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to undergo police checks and vulnerable sector checks as part of the hiring process.
