Reporting to the Executive Superintendent, School and Learning Services, the Project Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient project management of specific initiatives assigned as required to meet both capital and operational goals. A dedicated focus of maintaining a project management framework that ensures projects are standardized and delivered on time. Provide advice and recommend activities relating to cross organizational policy driven projects, services, and issues under the realm of governance, performance, project management and strategic priorities. Lead in the development and execution of project plans, provide expertise, consultation, analysis, monitoring, and reporting to ensure the Board is operating within the standards and guidelines of a project management framework in alignment with the overall 2023-27 multi-year strategic plan.

For the initial two to three years the Project Manager will act as the School Opening Facilitator, who will oversee and coordinate all aspects of opening a new school, ensuring seamless execution of tasks, timelines, and deliverables. This individual will act as the primary liaison among stakeholders, including educators, capital, finance, purchasing, vendors, and community leaders, to ensure the school is operational, compliant, and ready for its official opening.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in educational or construction-related projects.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership and human relations skills to direct, develop, motivate, and support personnel; hold personnel accountable to project objectives; and participate as an effective team member.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in education and construction (preferred).
  • Experience in opening educational institutions or large-scale facilities.
  • Familiarity with educational resource planning and technology integration.
