Job description

Our client is an industry leader in human capital consulting located in Toronto. They have engaged ROSS www.getROSS.com to help them recruit a PERMANENT PeopleSoft Test Team Lead with extensive experience in PeopleSoft's HR module. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation complemented by leading edge open-source HRIS software.

Work Location

This position offers the opportunity to work primarily from home anywhere in North America so long as the individual is able to work within regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm EST) and is able to travel to Toronto 25% of the time.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Leverage your in-depth PeopleSoft HCM / HRMS Test and QA experience in an exciting multi-faceted role! As our client's Senior PeopleSoft Test Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing all requirements and design specifications for their BPO HCM (WFA, Payroll, Workbrain, Taleo, Complink etc) services offering and managing testing projects. In addition, you will be responsible for accumulating and collating all test results for the project. You will summarize and analyze the results of the testing process as per the established metrics/measurements and make suitable recommendations to identify and close any gaps in the testing process.

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

  1. Review the project requirements to ensure completeness of requirements from testing perspective.
  2. Create and document Project Test Strategy and Plan based on the Vision document and use cases/requirements.
  3. Allocate test scripts to the testers.
  4. Track the progress of the project against scheduled delivery dates.
  5. Analyze high-risk areas of the assigned project section and create the risk analysis document to ensure appropriate priority is placed on the conditions being tested.
  6. Identify how other facets of the project may impact quality, and escalate identified risks to Project Lead.
  7. Support the project team(s) in evaluating risks and shuffle priorities based on unresolved issues.
  8. Ensure that issues arising during testing are resolved in a timely manner.
  9. Provide status of the test activities to the Project Lead.

Creation & Execution

  1. Execute the test scripts to test processes and reports defects.
  2. Review tests for correctness and comprehensiveness to ensure they meet project requirements.
  3. Define the type of test data required for a project and support the Test Analyst(s) to prepare test data by utilizing available data within the project team and making/creating necessary modifications for the new project.
  4. Create, execute, and store tests in a test script repository based on the use cases, high-level requirement scenarios, Project Test Plan, and the supplemental requirements, as per the test plan and within the schedule.
  5. Verify actual versus expected test results. Review unexpected results for origination of the issue (test data, requirements, coding).
  6. Submit clear, concise, and complete defects to the appropriate parties using the defect management tool.
  7. Execute the test plan by retesting issues until closure.
  8. Perform a test coverage traceability analysis to ensure that all requirements and supporting specifications are tested using the tests with duplicates, invalid, and out-of-scope scenarios removed.
  9. Monitor any change in requirements, analyze, and translate the changes into test documentation. (Building scenarios and updating tests, scripts).
  10. Gather summary test execution data and derive the requisite testing metrics from it.
  11. Participate in documenting any trends emerging from the Test Execution Review.
  12. Perform overall issue analysis to identify high-risk areas for the project and adjust testing priorities accordingly.

Documentation

  1. Log the test results by identifying specific tests that succeeded/failed.
  2. Document complete and accurate test results.
  3. Create and/or provide input on the necessary knowledge management documentation to aid client teams in understanding what needs to be tested, or how the tool should be utilized.

Job Requirements

  1. 4 - 5 years of PeopleSoft testing experience, preferably within the HR Business Process Outsourcing industry, financial sector or other organization conducting large PeopleSoft implementation projects.
  2. Bachelor/Master's Degree in Engineering/Computer Applications or relevant business experience.
  3. Knowledge of SDLC, Testing Methodology.
  4. Technical leadership for testing activities.
  5. HCM experience is a strong asset.
  6. Exposure to Black Box (Manual and Automated) testing is desirable.
  7. Experience in SEI CMMi Quality Processes relevant for Testing is desirable.
  8. Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as required (based on project).
