The People & Culture group is a team of service-minded individuals who are passionate about ensuring smart, customer-focused business processes are developed and followed. This team serves multiple internal customers and is made up of key business enablers and trusted business partners who provide superior customer service through collaboration, innovation, partnerships, and leadership to ensure the best possible user experience. In alignment with the needs of Explore Edmonton, services include providing governance advice and support, offering scalable business solutions, creating value for employees by building and facilitating connections across the organization.

About the Position

The People and Culture team is looking for a People & Culture Specialist. Areas of focus will include, but are not limited to, data administration, coordination and support People Programs including Learning and Development, SharePoint site administration, Celayix Scheduling System administration, employee file management and providing guidance and support to employees and managers with any HR related questions and issues. This professional, detailed oriented individual supports the smooth transition of work to and from our employees, People Leaders, payroll and within the People & Culture team. Some aspects of the duties include:

The successful individual will:

  • Coordinate, and support People Programs, including learning and development programs recognition programs and initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare, draft, edit or format various documents and presentations in support of People & Culture Team
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to internal working groups, teams, and committees, as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate electronic employee profiles in HRIS and scheduling system, including entering new hire, leaves, return to work and terminations, with an understanding of the various employment status types, applicable rules, regulations, and legislation.
  • Assisting the People & Culture team with the maintenance and update of employee Information, HR forms, documentation, websites, SharePoint etc.
  • Ensure digital employee files and scheduling system data remain up to date and accurate.
  • Providing guidance and support to employees and managers with any HR related questions and issues

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Human Resources certification or Business Administration Diploma
  • 2-3 year of office experience with a minimum of 1 year of Human Resources Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Office Suite and SharePoint (Work, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills with focus on detail orientation
  • Strong customer care skills
  • Strong writing, editing, grammatical, and general information research competencies
  • Strong self-management with ability to consistently meet deadlines, work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving
  • Demonstrated communication skills with ability to effectively articulate and communicate with all levels of employees throughout the organization
  • Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced employee centric service environment
