About the role
As a People & Culture Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role by effectively managing the HRIS, providing benefits administration, payroll support, compliance reporting, and overall support to employees and the P&C team in these areas of expertise. This position requires a blend of technical skills, HR Operations knowledge, attention to detail, and strong organizational capabilities.
This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this role
- Manage and maintain the HRIS effectively, ensuring data accuracy and system functionality including regular audits and data cleanup.
- Generate reports and provide technical support to end-users.
- Responsible for P&C Pay cycle and ensuring that all employee movements are properly actioned through payroll
- Participate in the planning, testing, and implementation of HRIS upgrades and new features.
- Identify opportunities to streamline P&C processes and improve system efficiency.
- Assists in maintaining the filing system of People & Culture records through SharePoint Online;
- Responsible for actioning year-end processes including year-end compensation and vacation accrual.
- Assist with the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing onboarding materials and conducting orientation sessions.
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide support on P&C related matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS you bring
- College diploma or university degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR Operations or HRIS administration role
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, ASL)
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with system implementation and project management considered an asset.
- A CHRP accreditation or working towards a designation is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code.
- Knowledge of SharePoint
- Knowledge of Power BI is considered an asset.
